Tina Puente is a marvel.
If you've read this blog for more than a month you know how much we value resourcefulness, courage, intuition and focused energy around here. ("More than a month" because the last 30 days or so have been consumed with railing about the abscence of those traits within current leadership and the catstrophic consequences of the lack.)
I can say Tina is a marvel because we've worked together. And it was fun--rare fun. She works in Business Development and has directed efforts for several ad agencies of note, with no small impact. She's a Creative Director's ally not a party-line suit; she gets the point and the purpose of marketing as a future-based engine of optimism, leadership and unique opportunity, and, yes, profit. Again, very rare. Amazingly, that talent does NOT equate to ego. In fact, it's magnetic because she makes people feel more engaged and involved at work and can gently but firmly focus them, even when the urge is to say "been there, done that." Maybe best of all, clients can sense it and some insist that Tina manage their business on the agency side. Gee, having clients be mildly jealous of your recruiting skills and talent radar--not a bad problem to have.
Visit her site, check out her resume and job search tips for others, and register your visit. Email the link if you like her gumption. Why? She's not just looking for a job, her goal is cross the path of 1,000,000 business people in her job search. Hey, why not? There's a page of references, so check them out. The quotes don't surprise me one bit. I think I just wrote one.
Go get 'em Tina.
