There's no crying in politics.

Well, true to form, self-knowledge and it's cousin, character, evades yet another public servant.

Rocky Mountain News
WASHINGTON - As criticism of him grew this week, Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Brown sent a candid e-mail to family and friends.

"I don't mind the negative press (well, actually, I do, but I try to ignore it) but it is really wearing out the family," Brown wrote. "No wonder people don't go into public service. This country is devouring itself, the 24-hour news cycle is numbing our ability to think for ourselves."

Turns out Brownie still has some friends, and the article goes on to give some of their commiseration an airing as well as some of his bio. Seems the handful quoted feel Brownie has been made a fall guy for:
1. Nature's fury
2. Mendacious higher-ups
3. Meanies who don't get that he's a human being--with feelings.
:-(
