Apropos of nothing (as it should be)

Creativity is a point of view, a mental zip code. Someone famous has to have sad that sometime. If not, doesn't matter. It's still true. A mental zip code. Space and time slow down, speed up, do weird things to each other. Audacious or unprintable things. Or just quiet things; the stuff that registers in your head on the drive home. Or in the shower. Or 3 weeks later, while making love. Or while attending a funeral. Doesn't matter. It's a place lots of people spend plenty of money chasing. It's a formula millions have tried to uncover. It's a state of mind on which billions have been squandered trying to legislate and regulate and organize.

Folly.

Because ideas are dangerous things. And good for them, for just that reason. They make us find better or understand worse. They make us expect stuff. And forget our failures. Or, at least, forgive those failures for the pleasure and energy of believing once more. Here's something somebody famous actually did say once: Love means never having to say you're sorry. Too right. And, sometimes, painfully inconvenient. And if that's true of love, perhaps it can also be said of Creativity that it means never having to say you settled. For someone else's idea of love. Or point of view. Or inaudacious things. For someone else's mental zip code.

Aww, forget that existential crap. Have you ever heard of Bob Log III?

Oh yeah, NSFW Alert.
