A True Public Character: Jane Jacobs. RIP
A sad day. Death and Life of American Cities was, I can honestly say, one of maybe 3 or 4 books that changed how I thought (or thought of many things) after reading it. Up until that point, at 19, I had a vague notion of how life/policies/stuff didn't fit together in the ways lots of smart people insisted they absolutely must and did. Jane Jacobs and others started me looking for my own patterns. Now, I remember the lessons when I try to understand oranizations or brands as well as cities. Thank you, jane. You will truly be missed.
