Why Spec work isn't an option in the GWOT
Should Democrats offer a plan for Iraq? Well, do you offer to do the work of the negligent, stupid or lazy at your company? If you do, well... God bless you. Do you hang around while they critique said work and complain because you also want credit? Do they still call you names while on the way to have your boss evaluate the work? Do they smile when presenting the work, then mumble to the boss how difficult it was to get it done given your selfish manner and irresponsibility?
Yes, in this case, the boss is the American voter.
Here's some lovely video. Tacitus points us to George Allen (my Senator and ex-Governor), who gets confused about an amendment and doesn't seem to have even read the document he's proposing. Why? It wasn't his. It was authored, printed and distributed beforehand by colleague Dick Durbin. My Senator stole it. Why? Because Democrats don't have any ideas of course. They don't care about the troops. And they would never offer up a bill seeking to increase the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center. Republicans care about that stuff. Wacth Ted Stevens attempt to haul Allen's lying ass out the fire, based on the one thing different between the amendments: the substitution of "shall" for "will."
Dick Durbin was, incomprehensibly, too nice to make a fuss about being mugged on the so-called sacred ground of the Senate Floor. Today, Mary Landrieu said f*ck that sh*t...
Good for you Mary, even if youd didn't actually say "f*ck that sh*t." If I was a Senator, me and my cricket bat would've needed a very good lawyer about 3 years ago.
