Where Have All the Leaders Gone?

Good question.
Where Have All the Leaders Gone?

By Lee Iacocca with Catherine Whitney

...I've never been Commander in Chief, but I've been a CEO. I understand a few things about leadership at the top. I've figured out nine points—not ten (I don't want people accusing me of thinking I'm Moses). I call them the "Nine Cs of Leadership." They're not fancy or complicated. Just clear, obvious qualities that every true leader should have. We should look at how the current administration stacks up. Like it or not, this crew is going to be around until January 2009. Maybe we can learn something before we go to the polls in 2008. Then let's be sure we use the leadership test to screen the candidates who say they want to run the country. It's up to us to choose wisely.

So, here's my C list:

I think Lee would be well served to reflect on Matthew Chapter 7, Verse 2.

Or Bill Whittle's Seeing the Unseen, Part 2.

I like James 1:22, have to stare at it every Sun over the apse. (okay, not every Sun.)

On the next bit, ya lost me. The eject^3 title bar is cool but what the hell was all that other stuff about? Lee's a Capricorn One fan?

The Bill Whittle part was for two reasons: one; he mentions Ockham's Razor. Coincidence? I don't think so. Second, Lee's points seem the same "that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it" position as the 9-11 denier guys. Lee attacks Bush's mental models and character. To me that's anathema. How can Lee see into Bush's head? He can't. He's making shit up for his own benefit, and that's intellectually lazy. And while I gleefully engaged in that kind of activity in the past, my work on M&T has forced me to reject that sort of thinking myself. I would LIKE to say I'mADinnerJacket is an evil, scum-sucking bastard from the Nth ring of hell, but I won't. His actions are heinous, but I'm not omniscient enough to now why he makes them, much less to pronounce his character lacking.

That's my beef with Lee. I will actively criticize the actions, but I will not pronounce the man himself worthless. And that's why the reference to Mk7:2
