$2,400,000,000,000 to saw off your own feet

Forbes: $2,400,000,000,000
WASHINGTON (Thomson Financial) - The total cost, including debt servicing, of the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could reach 2.4 trln usd by 2017, a report by the Congressional Budget Office found.

The report, by the body which provides non-partisan budget analysis for Congress, said higher estimates for total spending for the wars could top out at 1.7 trln usd by 2017.

Under the most intense scenarios of US military activity, a further 705 bln usd could be added to the cost by interest payments, assuming the wars continue to be largely financed by government borrowing, the report said.
Philadelphia department store legend, John Wanamaker, said: "Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half." Somehow, I don't think the we're quite getting the traction in this effort that yields a 50% split. Maybe another smart businessman, Bill Bernbach, had the nut of it
A great ad campaign will make a bad product fail faster. It will get more people to know it's bad.

An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.
Yep. Of course, it's not exactly unprecedented that it's hard to find a quorum when the board wants to gather the players who birthed and midwifed a big mistake...
