Town halls McCain's strong suit?

Always thought that Townhall thing was a misnomer, sorta like the guy who says "Sure you beat me at rugby but how are you at Solitaire?" McCain's vaunted Townhall proficiency climaxes with him as the solo act, with friendly audiences, maybe humming Beach Boys tunes.

Tonite was an awful format with some goofy questions but one guy looked quite at home and it wasn't the excitable aviator. Obama did seem a bit tired at the 85% mark, didn't he? Sometime around the Russia/Georgia to-and-fro. Not lame, maybe just weary of batting away the renewed neo-con hardon for spinning plates in the Caucasus in addition to Mesopotamia and south Asia.

Weirdnesses: When you call people your "my friends" 28 times it's kinda like calling yourself a Maverick over and over. Folk tend to think you're neither a Maverick nor their friend. Ditto "Miss Congenialty" which was thankfully absent tonite.

What more can be said, "that one" and walking grinningly into the Bomb Bomb Iran roundhouse were amateurish moves.

The only thing now is for Obama to unspool his Energy Moonshot - that was the best clearcut example of the night: What the computer did for the 80s and 90s, energy and green tech will do for the next decades. Add some infrastructure into that and we get some market optimism derived from job creation and from income-generating investments rather than taxcuts for folks who ain't got no green to tax.
